Classic Tuna Melt
Classic Tuna Melt
Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough or rye bread
- 1-2 cans of tuna (packed in water or oil), drained
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise or greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of mustard
- 1 stalk of celery chopped
- 1 shallot chopped
- 1 tablespoon of chopped dill
- 2-3 slices of American cheese
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of mayo (for grilling)
Instructions
- Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, shallots, and dill until well combined.
- Spread mayo onto two slices of bread.
- Place bread mayo side down onto a skillet and add cheese to both sides.
- Place a lid over the pan and wait for the cheese to melt.
- Add the tuna mixture onto the sandwich.
- Press gently with a spatula and heat for one minute.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve immediately.
Spicy Tuna Melt

Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough or rye bread
- 1-2 cans of tuna (packed in water or oil), drained
- 2 tablespoons of kewpie mayo
- 1 tablespoon of sriracha sauce
- 1 stalk of celery chopped
- 1 shallot chopped
- 1 tablespoon of jalapenos, diced
- 2 slices of habanero cheddar or pepper jack cheese
- Jalepeno chips for garnish
Instructions
- Combine tuna, mayo, sriracha, celery, shallots, and jalapenos in a bowl.
- Spread mayo on bread slices, and assemble the sandwich with cheese and tuna mixture.
- Grill as per the classic melt method, until golden and crispy.
- Serve with Jalepeno chips and enjoy immediately.
Thanksgiving Melt
Thanksgiving Melt
Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough or rye bread
- 1-2 cans of tuna (packed in water or oil), drained
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon of cranberry sauce
- 1 stalk of celery chopped
- 1 shallot chopped
- 1 tablespoon of chopped dill
- 2 slices of gruyere
- Stuffing Chips for crunch
Instructions
- Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, shallots, and dill until well combined.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- On the un-mayoed side of one slice, spread a thin layer of cranberry sauce and layer a slice of gruyere, the tuna mixture, a handful of stuffing chips for crunch, and another slice of gruyere. Top with the second slice of bread, mayo side facing out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwich until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted, flipping once (about 3-4 minutes per side).
- Serve warm and enjoy immediately!
Tikka Masala Melt

Ingredients
- 2 slices of sourdough or rye bread
- 1-2 cans of tuna (packed in water or oil), drained
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon of mango chutney
- 1 tablespoon of mint chutney
- 2-3 tablespoon of tikka masala sauce
- 1 stalk of celery chopped
- 1 shallot chopped
- 1 tablespoon of chopped dill
- 2 slices of pepper jack cheese
Instructions
- Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, mustard, celery, shallots, and dill until well combined.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.
- Split tuna mixture into two bowls and add mint chutney to one mixture and tikka masala sauce to the other
- Place both slices of bread mayo side down onto heated skillet.
- Grill the sandwich until the bread is toasted on both sides, then add cheese to both slices of bread, and spread a thin layer of mango chutney on top of cheese.
- Take the sandwich off heat once the cheese has melted, add the two tuna mixtures onto the bread, then sandwich together.
- Slice and enjoy immediately!
